Here is my painting for the Aesop's Fable project! And as the old adage goes, "Never trust your enemies"...scumbags!

  1. Awww!!! The donkey, its little wary eyes, poor thing!
I can the fox going "Whadda maroooooon" haha

Awesome! I love the color choices, and those areas of wet on wet paint, like the ground and the lions back.

One minor suggestion - lighten up the shadow around the lions blinking eye, because it kind of looks like a regular eye with no pupil, and i think its because the shadow looks like an eye outline.

Man, that lion's face is fantastic. And the fox fur has a really nice texture!!

    Great piece (:

  2. I agree, I think this one came out really nice! Good composition, and a great story. Such a sad little donkey!
I think the one thing i would say is what Lis had to say about his closed eye...it looks like an empty socket. Maybe just check out some photos of winking people. It's just a bit too dark and outlined.
    Sweet!

  3. Beautifully done! Love the composition and especially the touch in which the two nasty animals' tails point at and frame the poor donkey. You can really feel the rush of movement as the fox and lion lean in together, contrasted with the donkey's quiet melancholy. All the expressions are so vivid and just, just right!
